Big Hairy Audacious Goal (BHAG)
To change the world’s concept of Christianity from reason-centered to relationship-centered.

Our miracle goal is to make different or alter in some particular way, that everyone whom we touch, including the entire world, conceives or thinks about Christianity, with that concept moving from thinking about Christianity as being centered in reasoning, rationalizing, or defense to being centered in relationship—a relationship with God, Jesus Christ, The Holy Spirit, ourselves, and others.
I will use this forum to respond to questions that I receive in the course of ministering to the members of our church and others beyond the boundaries of our church. I will also use this forum to expand and augment teaching that I was unable to include in sermons or in the book proper, because of time, space, or subject matter.
There is so much to talk about, when we consider
families, family culture, and family mess.
One of the things that is very much related to and undergirds my concern for families is my Big Hairy Audacious Goal or BHAG. This term comes from a book entitled: Built To Last, by James C. Collins and Jerry I. Porras, Harper Business, HarperCollins Publishers, New York, New York, 1994.
The book is a six-year research project that compares visionary companies with a carefully selected controlled set of comparison companies. Most of the visionary companies have been business for more than 100 years. We are not talking about visionary leaders, but visionary companies. Visionary companies often have visionary leaders, but visionary companies outlive visionary leaders because the company has become visionary. The book is a study of great and enduring companies and what made them great. A BHAG is really a miracle goal. From a Bible perspective, a BHAG cannot be reached without the miraculous power of the Holy Spirit. God gave me my BHAG several years back.
All of this has to do with relationships!!! We cannot experience the intimacy that God created us to experience, which is the highest level of intimacy, through the exclusive use of our thoughts. In many cases, our relationships are only two brains shaking hands, instead of two hearts shaking hands.

Christianity is a relationship with Jesus Christ!!! And, in the Bible, that relationship is modeled after a family. God is the Father, the Holy Spirit is the Comforter or Mother, and Jesus Christ is the Son of God and our Elder Brother. All other believers are our brothers and sisters.
Consequently, I want to help everyone get their hearts back, because we connect with God and with each other through our hearts. God said in Jeremiah 29:13 (NASB-U),
“You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.”
God couldn’t’ give Jacob the blessings He still had in store for him, until He and Jacob wrestled the “Family Mess” into submission...
